Aftercare
Throughtout the years people have asked me what is the best way to take care of a new tattoo.
Honest answer is there is no 1 answer. There are alot more products for sale than ever before that throw the name tattoo on it.
Everyones body/skin is different and can react different to things.
I find the best things personally is to keep it simple.
•Rinse your tattoo gently using warm water and an anti-baterial soap (example, dial, soft soap, americas choice). Only use your fingertips to clean your new tattoo. Never use anything abrasive during the healing. Let your tattoo air dry before applying any aftercare ointment.
•Use aquaphor, inkeeze, hustle butter, etc. Apply a small chap stick amount to you tattoo. less is more. if you think you are using too much, you probably are.
•Clean your new tattoo 2-3 times daily. No more is needed. Always rinse your tattoo with soap and water before applying a new layer of aftercare.
•Stay out of direct sunlight and bodies of water for 2 weeks
•Your new tattoo will scab, flake, peel, itch. Fight the urge to scratch or pick at it. Doing so is on you and does not make for a final product.
•If you are getting a tattoo that requires multiple sessions, you will need 2 weeks minimum between sessions.
MY FRIEND SAID THEY USE…..
Yes, like stated earlier there are a ton products out now for aftercare.
Adhesive bandages ? I tend to use these on occasion for specific areas or clients. Not everyone should use these. If a client has sensitive skin or adhesive allergies i would recommend not to use this style of bandage.
Some clients have used previous and prefer this, and on request i will use them.
